This
second self-titled release from Guelph's best kept secret,
the Dissemblers, is even more energetic
than the last. Strong on vocals and harmonies this is
guitar rock full of riffs, solos and a big rhythm section.
Featuring the unforgettable Sean Danby,
a crazed, hand dancing singer with a voice and charisma
of locomotive proportions. In the same manner as their
first CD, these fifteen new songs feature a cross section
of musical styles and personalities, creating a diary
of sorts. Dreams, odd characters, day jobs, friends and
lovers, a road story, personal politics and a dash of
hope, are all served up as infectious pop. Tinges of folk,
country, and blues are blended together with grinding
Stratocastor guitars to create what critics have called
"cottage - BBQ - summer road rock."
Recorded by Lewis
Melville at the Sound Emporium in August 1995, the heat outside couldn't
rival the energy and sweat happening behind the glass.
Guest spots by Michael Barclay,
(Black Cabbage),
Sam Baijal (Cornucopia) and Lewis
Melville (Rheostatics, Skydiggers, Pat Temple, Grievous Angels) add to the creation of a quintessential
garage band rock album. This is Chapter Two for the Dissemblers.
