Dog Tales is a singer/songwriter
album that has a comfortable feel to it. The Voice stands
in the center grounded by Dave's picking and strumming.
Around the guitar and voice are arrangements of mostly
acoustic instruments that bring focus to the music and words.
Overall Dog Tales has a consistency that provides for a
very good listen as Dave invites you to his own private
campfire with friends and his latest batch of songs.
CD Liner Notes.....
I've been writing songs since poetry class in grade nine
when I gained access to "Stella" my sister's guitar. Mostly
I hid in my bedroom and then later behind a band. This is
my coming out and I'm proud to have worked with the musicians
that fancied up some of the songs. Of course I left
a few naked so you know what I really sound like.
Dave Teichroeb is singer
songwriter that swings between country, blue grass and pop.
These "Dog Tales" come from Alberta, Mexico, Germany and
Texas but are told from a campfire somewhere in Guelph,
Ontario. Friends join in to add drums, bass, pedal steel,
violin, dobro, mandolin, clavinet and percussive stuff .
Teichroeb is the kind of handle that causes
a lifetime of explaining. I'm told Teichroeb comes
from Friesland in Northern Germany and the instigator worked
around ponds. It's pronounced "tike-robe", like microbe
but with a T.
