"FLO" is the debut album of the Bird Sisters. Recorded live in The Church of St. John the Evangelist, in Elora, Ontario this collection of songs features five original compositions and arrangements of six R and B, Gospel, Folk, and Jazz classics. This recording established the Bird Sisters as a significant a cappella act in the Canadian music scene. Highlights include a terrific arrangement of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock", and a heartfelt rendition of Townes Van Zandt's "If I Needed You", as well as the consistent quality of the spirited and emotional vocal performances. The superb song writing skills of these three women is readily apparent in this early recording. Produced and recorded by Jeff Bird of the Cowboy Junkies.
