This sophomore effort by
Peter and his crew sharpens up his dance grooves and clean
simple melodic lines. A disciple of the Grateful Dead and
the early San Francisco psychedelic sound of Jefferson Airplane
and Quicksilver Messenger Service, these songs have succeeded
in making Creef and the Herbs a staple on the Northern European
club circuit. Harmonies has been playlisted on alternative
radio in Holland and Germany, and record sales have been
brisk.
The band made a video of "Old #6"
to promote concert and record sales on their last European
tour, and the visual images highlight sentimental attachments
to a stretch of blacktop- it's a great, motoring road song.
"Fantasia" and "Sweet Memory"
tap into the intertwining guitar riff/rhythms of the Allman
Brothers Band and Jerry Garcia.
This self-produced nine song album was recorded
at the Sorta Studio
in Guelph, and released in 1991.
