Hilario,
the first full-length CD by the Kingston, Ontario duo,
is a twenty-one song opus running through the minds of
two Kingston songsters. Spanning material previously released
on cassette, to newer studio material recorded at Chemical
Sound, this album redefines the conventional notion of
rhythm section. This band is complete with only voice,
bass and drums!
Several different recordings sessions are
covered on Hilario including the self-produced four-track
classic "Prince", the eight-track
romp "Tell the Truth" produced
by Grant Ethier
(13 Engines) and the sixteen-track attack
of "Matterhorn" produced by Dave Clark (Rheostatics)
and Lewis
Melville.
Holding steady for four months on the National
Chart, Hilario climbed to the number 5 spot for eight
weeks, and received regular radioplay on Toronto's CFNY.
This band proves that a Bass and Drums Rock
and Roll Orchestra can achieve world domination. A favourite
choice of the folks at DROG GERMANY, this album continues
to win new fans for this cat-loving duo.
