Catalogue # DROG-012
On July second, 1994 Adam
West, By Divine Right, Gun'l Bob, The Inbreds, People From Earth and the Wooden Stars gathered
together in Toronto at the Ultrasound Showbar to raise money
for the Kids Help Phone. A smashing success the entire evening
was recorded by Doug McClement famous for his work with
a who's who of popular music (Police, Talking Heads....).
Two songs from each Band
were chosen for a total of 58 minutes of electrifying live
concert sound. Each of these Bands has their own unique
sound and have been slugging it out in the rock trenches
of Southern Ontario. Green Sprouts Music Club is delighted
to bring them some well deserved attention. The concert
was organized by the three Dave's Clark & Bidini (Rheostatics) and Bookman (CFNY), liner notes
written by Dave Clark and Dave Bidini (Rheostatics) and
CD layout by Neil at Atire.
The quote of the evening
comes from Mick Jagger (Stones), in town to prepare for
their Voodoo Lounge Tour he dropped by to see what all the
fuss was about. When given the new CD, Brunswick
Hotel, by Adam West's Dave Merit, Mick said, "Phanx
Man, phanx a lot". That's what the Kids Help Phone
will be saying too if you help out a worthy cause and purchase
a copy Nerdstock.
