Released January 1994, Talk To Me is the first release
by Guelph's Dissemblers. Recorded at Grange Street Sound
by Lewis Melville (Rheostatics, Skydiggers, Pat Temple, Grievous Angels) and Wayne Stokes (Skydiggers,
Plastercene Replicas), this album captures the spirit of
Canadian rock; southwestern Ontario-style.
Influenced by many of the Can-Rock greats the Dissemblers
retain a unique sense of individuality by writing songs
which reflect the world through the life and times in their
home town. With three lead singers and four songwriters
contributing folk/blues/rock and country compositions, the
Dissemblers entwine a vast collection of styles and sounds
that weave together to mysteriously create a single, complete
sound. This album is a must for anyone curious about the
alternative musical styles which are evolving outside of
Toronto. Talk To Me begins with the all important task of
an orchestra checking feedback levels and banjo tuning.
Then it's curtain time...
