The Cardinals are Eugene Szponarski's (guitar & vocals) and Phil Bennett's (bass) creation and the two have been working together for 10 years. Fifteen odd members read like a who's who of the Guelph music scene. Cardinals alumni have gone on to the Bird Sisters, The Lawn, Celtic Blue, Big Smoke and Tamarack.

The Cardinals released "Modulation City" on cassette in 1987. The present lineup on their new album, Wake Up! Wake Up! All Ye Saints, sees the return of long time drummer Mike Bush and Molly Kurvink is a new addition as a co-writer and backing vocalist.
