| Firmly rooted in Toronto's music
scene, a veteran of Canada's indie tour circuit and with some 15 tours
of Canada 1 U.S. tour and performances at a truckload of music conferences
(SXSW, NXNE, J, CMW, NMS to name a few), ADAM FAUX is continually breathing
new life into contemporary pop.
His song attitude is most easily compared to
early Elvis Costello, or Mathew Sweet's more recent work, while harmonic
and melodic tendencies might mirror Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (emphasis
on the Young).
ADAM FAUX (lead vocals, guitar) has written
for and performed with Pigfarm, The Lost Dakotas, and The Urban Decay Group.
His early work with Pigfarm resulted in 1987's Hold Your Nose an
independent nearly unheard of occurrence prior to the "indie explosion"
of recent year. He has written songs with Lori Yates (Warner), Scott Dibble
(Hemingway Corner), and Chris Phoenix among others. Faux has also
performed session work with Randy Bachman and Jim Carol.
In 1996 Faux participated in the ASCAP Songwriters
Workshop in New York City - an invitation only, month-long seminar series
for established songwriters in North America. Of the 14 participants, Faux
was the only Canadian song-writer involved, and his participation in this
event further honed his already noteworthy creative skills.
The live show, sometimes acoustic sometimes
Zepplinesque, features the same band members but with a rotating cast of
drummers most recently featuring Steve Pitkin (Pigfarm, Mrs. Torrance).
