Plaster Cowboys at Club Vinyl

A 6-piece Alt-Western band for the folk weary and the lost believers of country music.

Plaster Cowboys are from Guelph, Ontario. A six piece roots rock outfit that plays firebrand folk.  Not just guitar slingers, the Plaster Cowboy's music rides from beers and tears to politically charged and emotional insights into the "new west". Dusty vocals with strong harmonies and kick ass accompaniment from a very well ridden posse who are the Kramdens when not riding with Dave Teichroeb.

Plaster Cowboy (Dave Teichroeb 2004 Socan)
(The Plaster Cowboy is a real statue that stands out front
of Bernardi Precast on Elizabeth Street in Guelph Ontario, Canada. )

Have I told you bout the plaster cowboy Fingers Findlay
At Bernardi pre-cast concrete
He rides tall in the saddle
With a smile and a wave
On his horse he stands nearly ten feet
All the men wish they were him
And the women wanna hold his gun
Gravity killed his father
Left him a rooster for a partner
Knoxville Steve
He’d leave town but he weighs 5 tons

The plaster cowboy is how dreams get cast
Concrete rebar and some paint
You can say you're leaving town

But you're cemented to the ground
As you slowly chip and fade

He was seen at all the fancy parties
At the Cutten club he could make’n laugh

No one stops anymore and says
Can I Take your picture mister? Slim Willie
His hat was stolen 5 years back

chorus

His dream was to stand in the downtown
And say howdy to all the passers by

Instead there's a naked family
Showing all their parts and pieces
Holding a baby up to the sky

chorus

So go see the plaster cowboy
And I'm sure you'll hear him say
Glad to meet you sir
Or why thank you kindly ma'am
Right fine of you to pass by my way

Duster Dave Craiger
